To me, a person with integrity is someone you deem worthy of your respect. There is no one quality that defines integrity it could be a plethora of things. I've known Tom Brincklow since my freshmen year. He coached me in basketball that year and as one of his best players we formed a close relationship. I played point guard and he entrusted me to run the offense and be the coach on the floor. The following year I began to volunteer in a special education gym class that Coach Brincklow taught. Once a week during one of my free periods I would meet him at the gym and help the kids play various games. The first time I met Coach Brincklow I could tell he oozed confidence and that he was someone I could trust. He immediately earned my respect and I consider him not only a mentor but also a friend.

Coach Brincklow has always been my greatest ally in the basketball program. He has consistently let me know the truth and exactly how he felt, as opposed to the varsity coach who plays constant mind games. The minute I stepped on the court my freshmen year he let me know that I was going to start and that I was going to play point guard. My responsibilities were clearly laid out and I was able to focus and perform to the best of my ability. To this day I have never had a conversation with the varsity coach about what areas of my game need to improve. He only drops hints in casual conversation that are demeaning and embarrassing. After each season Coach Brincklow let me know how much he appreciated my hard work and he also gave suggestions on what I should work on during the off-season. Coach Brincklow has always pulled for me to be on the varsity and this year I will get the chance to be on the team. I owe all of my improvement as a basketball player to the encouragement of Coach Brincklow. .
During my sophomore year, I was looking for a place to volunteer and so I asked Coach Brincklow if there were any opportunities available in the LABBB program.
