There is no one tru meaning for the word God. Everyone interpreets God differently. As a Christian I believe God is my maker and the creator of all things. I beliebe that God sent his only begotten son, Jesus, to die on a cross for us. I also believe there is a heaven and a hell. When it's my time I will be united with God and my other family members in heaven.
Of course others' interpretations could be different. In other countrys God means something entirly diffrent. A person could have many gods. Some of their gods are wooden figures that they worship and bring offerings to. They belive that if they don't follow all of the rituals they will punish them.
There are people who even worshop plantets. For example, Venus is considered the goddess of love. They look at the stars and the mood to predict what will happen. They belibe by reading this they are getting direct orders from their gods.
There are some people out there that don't belive in God at all. We call these people Atheist. They may have believed once, but might wish to ignore him. They may not believe in God Himself, but could have material objects as their god. Fro example, someone could thingk the new car they bought is a god.
To some God may be a myth made up to scare kids into obeying their parents. People look at Him as nothing more than an exaggerated Santa Clause. To me He will alsways be my Father, Son , and Holy Spirit. He is my messiah and savior for ever.
