I abruptly corrected her by saying, "I beg your pardon, but I cannot remember one single time that a teacher has ever said that to me." Then she giggled and I soon began to see that even as perfect as I am, I have to admit that I too have committed what seems to be the number one sin on the Teacher's Commandments. .
Another thing students do that seems to infuriate teachers deals with our preparation for their class or should I say lack there of any preparation. This is something with which we could all relate if the phrase were to be reworded to say, not studying or doing the homework assigned. Now, I can personally vouch for all students from the beginning of school to every student that will ever be because I know that no student would ever not do his/her homework or study for a test. Most of the time when we appear in class without the assignment, it is merely because we forgot. A bad student would remember that they had homework, not do it, and then not attend class the next day because of it, but I know that there never has been or never will be a bad student. I know that some teachers will say that forgetting is no excuse, but we are not making up an excuse this time. The other problem is that all teachers are so beautiful or handsome that sometimes we find ourselves frolicking in a field of daisies with the teacher and simply do not comprehend that an assignment has been given. I know that I am guilty of this one too, but how am I supposed to control my subconscious? If they would just hire teachers that were old and ugly, I would not have a problem nor would any other student. When I asked the teachers, "What is something you hate about the way students prepare for your class?" I received an answer that did not dumbfound me. The majority of the teachers replied with a comment like, "Students don't read." Now this is not the case. Students read every day. For instance, today first thing this morning, I read the back of the cereal box while I was sitting at breakfast.
