Anger is a weakness of mine. I gladly admit it, they say admitting you have a problem is the first step in the healing process so I will boast in my weakness. Who are 'they' you ask? Well, I'm not totally sure, but in this particular case, I'm talking about Paul.
Paul was a passionate guy. HGe lived his life in the moment, but he knew how to keep his cool. He used to be an angry guy that is, until he met Jesus. See Paul used to kill Christion, mostly for the fun of it. He didn't like them; they made him angry. Always takling about Jesus, and God's love, and blah blah blah. But anger and hatred so powerful would bring its consequences. On a road to kill more Christions he met Jesus Christ, and Jesus took his sight (wow, at least my mom just got blurry-eyed). A few days later, a CHRISTION gave him his sight back in the power of the Holy Spirit, and well Paul turned from his anger to embrace passion. But passion for Christ would also come with a price.
In 2 Corinthians 11 Paul gives us a brief summary of this price. (24)Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. (25)Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, (26)I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles, in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. (27)I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. (28)Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is lead into sin, and I do not inwardly burn? (29)IF I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.
I know that seemed longer than brief but bear with me; Paul liked to talk, as do I. And there's a lot to be swallowed in that.
