In the story Lord of the Flies there is a very strong theme that stays through the story until being destroyed at the end. This theme is represented by the conch. With this brings law, order, democracies and civilization to the island.
The statement I have put on my static image is "" Most obscurely, most powerfully there is the conch"" (pg 18). I have put this on to establish what the conch represents on the island. The conch has this power to, no matter what the boys become (eg. Savage like) always bring the way of civilizeation, the way things where in England and law and order back to them.
The black background is there to represent the darkness that leaks around when the conch is not there. The conch is there to bring peace and hold civilization. When the conch is not being used the boy go to the more savagery way and that is symbolized by the black being behind the conch. .
I have put on the rule book to show that law and order, rules and civilization come out of the conchs power in the novel. I think this links in with the rule book because rule books hold law and order etc. .
My island that is on the static image is there to represent the natural beauty on the island before the boys got their. It shows the quietness, the peace on the island, no disturbance of human life form. Nothing but nature its self.
A school uniform is on their also to show who the boy where before they got their and started ripping them off. This also brings back and symbolizes civilization, because you would not see a boy in his school uniform ripping it up to threads back in England.
The reason I have put the court hammer on the image was to also symbolize the law and order and civilization that was not on the island but back in England with courts and laws and consequences. .
The view that I was going for in my image was the conch. Because it brings out law and order with in the boys, civilization to savagery and natural beauty on the island.
