Caesar and Cleopatra - Ultimate Leader

Being able to listen to the people and fulfill their needs, helps to make Caesar an ultimate leader.
To be an ultimate leader, Caesar needs to be a risk taker. But Caesar can not take any risk when he pleases; it has to be an calculated risk, where the outcome is more likely to be positive than negative, and without putting the lives of his people and his resources at too much of a risk. In the story, when Caesar is in the lighthouse, he risks a diversion of his attention to accept a gift from the queen - the carpet in which the queen is stowed away. He takes this risk even when his men think that they should be concentrating all their attention on the task at hand. Shortly after, Caesar takes a risk by jumping off the light house, into the sea, and ordering to have the queen thrown down, and he will swim with her on his back, to escape to the galley. By taking these calculated risks, Caesar inspires his followers to do the same. By doing so, this make him a better leader. Inspiring people, and taking risks for them, helps Caesar to be an ultimate leader.
For people to support Caesar, they need to be able to trust him. A great example would be the fact that Cleopatra puts complete trust in Caesar to teach her how to be a queen, and not be eaten by "Caesar". Also, the Romans rarely argue with Caesar, they trust his decisions. His soldiers especially need to trust him, and trust that he knows what he is doing. For example, when he says "We must take every man his life in his hand, and throw it in the face of Death. And of my soldiers who have trusted me there is not one whose hand I shall not hold more sacred than your head" (pg. 84) this shows that his soldiers trust him and his decisions, and he respects them for doing so. If people did not trust a leader, they would not be able to support him, because they would not know what he will do to them. Gaining the trust and support of the people, helps to make Caesar an ultimate leader.
