Ethical Dilmema

 

The country is on a high risk alert right now and it is my duty as an American citizen to keep my eyes and ears open for anything that could potentially harm the public. Plus, there are rules and regulations for which I must follow and to not tell in this situation would clearly break the most important rule: protect all people at whatever cost.              from our own transportation center, how could someone put this off so easily? Consequently, I knew from the look he gave me that if I tried to take this above his head I would be fired and may never work in this business again.
             The first process in determining my decision was examining the stakeholders. My family is first and foremost. They are depending on me to support them and since I have already been out of work for three months we are extremely short on money. On the other hand, if I do not tell and an attack was to happen I would be mentally destroyed. I would not be able to fulfill my duties of being a good wife or mother knowing that I amounted to a pathetic, unforgivable level just for money. This decision does not just affect my family it affects the entire world. Not only did American citizens die that day, eighty other countries citizens died as well. Furthermore, all airports and airport employees are among the stakeholders. If I tell, at least the public knows we are trying to fix the problem rather than hide it.
