            Intimate relationships have its own powerful meaning, causing powerful experiences in every day life. Providing us with love and emotional support, helping us grow to be a better person, and establishing a life-changing bond. Intimacy surrounds our society, causing some confusion along the way. Intimacy is defined as arising from "close union, contact, association, or acquaintance (suggesting closeness). There are four different dimensions of intimacy. Depending on your culture, plays a major role as well as how you express those dimensions. In intimate relationships, all are not always found, yet each dimension has its own special meaning.
             Consider the first dimension of intimacy, physical. It is the act of physical closeness, as in holding hands, hugging one another, giving or receiving a back rub, affectionate kisses, even struggles. It also occurs through information you acquire through observation. Before birth, the fetus is constantly surrounded by movement, warmth, and the sound of a beating heart. Once born and as that same fetus grows, if fortunate, are being rocked, fed, hugged and held. .
             Next, the second dimension of intimacy comes from intellectual sharing, exchanging thoughts. It is also when you enjoy similarities and differences between their opinions. Doing this is an open and comfortable way; they can become quite intimate in an intellectual area. However, not all conversation is worthwhile and worth pursuing, like asking the local newspaper when you should be receiving the paper (and for nothing more). Intellectual sharing suggests that a.
             Meaningful type of intellectual conversation must occur for the result of a better bond between individuals.
             A third form of intimacy is emotional, where two people comfortably share important feelings, trying to understand and be aware of that person's emotional side. Being honest in this approach, the person is able to develop interpersonal intimate relationships where both are able to render each other's act of sharing.
