PCs have become essential to everyday lives of millions of people around the world. Personal computers do almost about everything a person could get it to do. With the many different versions like desktops, laptops and PDAs people can use any version to fit their lifestyle. With the amount of money and time invested in one's PC, people can't help but love and depend on their computers for everything. It's a costly effort to buy a PC but in the long run it does good to own one. So instead of going down to the dirty, virus filled computer labs on a university campus, a bright, young college student wouldn't have to deal with the hassles of snoopers, they use their own computers to do their work, print papers, watch movies and play games. .
Many computers users do many different things with their computers; it all depends on the users taste. College students normal use it to do research and write papers the few days before it's due. A computer is great for research because to give a college student more sources for their papers and topics. A student could go to Yahoo or a search site and type in anything they want and within seconds get over hundreds of web pages and pictures. .
Other things people use their computers for is entertainment. People can listen to their favorite music CD in their computer, by either using a CD or downloading the music off the internet. People can also make their own CD by mixing songs from different CD into on to one CD. Also with certain programs, users can watch their favorite DVD on their computer instead of have a TV or DVD player. But for a DVD to work, hardware such as a DVD Rom has to be installed. If the user has a DVD burner as well, then they can copy the DVDs for themselves or others if they wanted to. They could even make DVDs from home videos or clips of other things, though the make a DVD the user would require some software to actually burn it onto a disc.
