Eye opening islands adventure

I remembered reading that Oahu was the most populated Island of them all, with a population near one million. Now I knew why because of the City of Honolulu. There are a few highways that go around Oahu and even a few expressways going through Honolulu and the mountain range. All around the island of Oahu there are towns big and small. Some populated with a few thousand others with less then a hundred. Most of these towns have strip malls, with everything from Taco Bell to K-mart and all most anything else you could want.
The next part of the trip we jumped on a plain and went to the small island of Kaui. This Island is northwest of Oahu. It was a very quick trip that only lasted around twenty-five minutes. It took longer just to get to the airport on Oahu then it did to fly to Kaui. This is considered the Green Island for the simple reason there is a lot of vegetation. Unlike Oahu it is one of the least populated, so there are not as many buildings, houses or people destroying the land. This island was absolutely breathtaking. To get around the island there is only one main road. It starts up on the northwest side of the island in an area called Wiamea Canyon State Park. This road wraps along the shoreline all the way around to the northeast side of the island to an area of mountains called the Na Pali Coast. There is a part between Wiamea Canyon State Park and the Na Pali Coast that is called Kokee National State Park. The only way to get completely around the island is to walk through Kokee State Park along the Na Pali Coast for about thirty miles on a hiking trail. As you can imagine it takes about a day and a half to do the thirty-mile hike, so you must obtain an overnight pass to go past certain checkpoints along the trail. So for the most part people just day hike in the area. There are a few small towns and several small villages around this island. But most of these towns and villages have a population of a hundred or less people.
