Immigration and Our National Security

            Immigration and Our National Security.
With our busy, fast paced American lifestyle we soon forget what is important to us. Moreover we take for granted what we have and cannot imagine life being any different. We cringe at the utter word "terrism", but we are hesitant when it comes to acting on preventing it. In order to prevent terrism in the United States we first need to regulate immigration and issue everyone in our country national identification cards.
According the U.S Census Bureau, over thirteen million immigrants entered the United States between 1990-2000. This population increase is defiantly the largest increase in US history. The rate of immigration in the US has tripled in the past 30 years.(Camarota 468). .
We must enforce closed borders and make it mandatory for everyone in the United States to have ID cards. Immigrants should only be let into the United States if they are going to school, or teaching. ID cards will help keep track of who is in our county and what they are up to. The ID card given to everyone in our country should contain simple information like name, address, and date of birth and a photo. It would also be nice to have a fingerprint chip that would make the card hard to reduplicate. Along with important information the card holders criminal background would be necessary. Having a national ID card will help reducing racial and ethnic stereotyping. There would be no use harassing someone just because they look like they could be terrriorts(Dershowitz 529). .
Immigrants cost the American tax payers money. In the last decade immigrants accounted for two thirds of the uninsured population increase. .
             .
Some people who are against the National ID cards think enforcing it will ultimately take away our freedom and privacy. We already have ID cards that we use every day. Think about it, what do we use to cash a check, go to a bar, drive or many other various activities(Dershowitz 529).
