             In the 1800's when Napolean and his men invaded Egypt, his men would get very intoxicated off of marijuana. Egypt saw this and they ban anything that had to do with hashish, the resin part at the top of the bud on a marijuana plant. Egypt said that people under the influence of hashish would lose their sense of reason and become victims of violent delirium, or become addicted to it. Although, it is not physically possible to get addicted to marijuana, it does have other harmful affects related to the body, such as its toxic make up and relation to disease, its mental affect, its relation with psychosis and physical affects.
             Cannabis, marijuana, has a very toxic make up. It contains 60 cannobinoids. The most potent of them all is THC, which is very psychoactive. There are over 400 other chemicals in the plant. Some of these chemicals are very harmful and others not, but the majority of their effects are still unknown to scientists.
             Some of today's marijuana is up to 20 times more potent than in the 1960's. This means there is 20 times more THC in the plants than in the .

The most well known drug today that tries to copy that "high" is "beans" also known as ecstasy. People simulate the THC in these designer pills making these drugs even more dangerous. THC is also fat soluble instead of water soluble like cocaine and heroin. This results in a build up in the body, making it last longer than cocaine and heroin. Recently, various cancers have been diagnosed in young pot smokers between the ages of 26 and 30. The carcinogens in the inhaled smoke is believed to be the cause. The cancers being seen include tongue, tonsil, sinus, larynx and lung. Marijuana is also believed to cause other cancerous tumors.
