Weapons of Mass Destruction

The creation of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction should be stopped, and those weapons that exist today should be destroyed. There are many reasons that these weapons do much more harm than good, and we would be doing the environment and the fate of humankind a huge favor.
The nuclear bomb is the primary weapon of mass destruction. Since the creation of nuclear weapons is completely military, the resources needed to build them are used first for the nukes, and everything else is secondary. Plutonium is the primary resource used for nuclear weapons, but we also use it for nuclear power. Since nuclear bombs use up so much plutonium, we don't have enough resources to convert most of our older, unsafe nuclear power plants, into the cleanest, most efficient power plants on Earth. We create something that destructs, instead of something that will save lives, money and energy. Another resource people don't take into consideration is the Scientists. Some of the best scientists in the world are used to make nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. Instead of creating things that are created to destroy our environment and the people that live in it, scientists could be out inventing new things, creating new medicine, making our world a more efficient place, not a more hostile one.
Nuclear bombs are created to destroy buildings, and basically anything in its blast radius. Though in the past few years, the Russians and other world powers have been creating biological weapons of mass destruction. Not only will they destroy everything in its blast radius, it will spread deadly superdiseases which are highly contagious and can spread throughout the world in a single year. Chemical weapons aren't created for destroying buildings, tanks and aircraft, they"re meant to kill regular people. Areas which the Russians have tested these chemical weapons are now completely useless.
