Drinking

Is the consuming of alcohol ok for believers of Christ better known as Christians? As seen in the world today alcohol can be a dangerous and very addictive substance, men must be very careful not use alcohols for personal usage but learn from religious scriptures on how alcohol may be consumed. When consuming alcohol from a Christian point of view men must have a clear understanding of the proper scriptures, and must resist from using alcohol for personal usage to satisfy the flesh. (www.dictionary.com) defines alcohol as "A colorless volatile flammable liquid, C2H5OH, synthesized or obtained by fermentation of sugars and starches and widely used, either pure or denatured, as a solvent and in drugs, cleaning solutions, explosives, and intoxicating beverages". It is truly a shame on how a holy substance that was once viewed as being a highly religious now being used to promote sin.
I remember talking to my aunt about possible places she could have my cousins wedding reception. The only problem with this was that my aunt waited to the last minute to try to book a hall, so her last result was a local bar. The issue that came up next was whether to allow the bar to sell alcoholic beverages. Some of the family members felt it wasn't right to allow the bar to sale alcohol because they believe the Bible does not encourage the consumption of alcohol. Some other family members felt there was no problem with drinking alcohol on this special occasion. One of my uncles said he loves to drink every once in a while and my cousin also supported my uncle by admitting to drinking. I read an article titled "Is it wrong to drink alcohol?" The writer said that the Bible does not condemn the moderate use of alcohol, but clearly condemns drunkenness. He or she quoted Ephesians 5:18 which says "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit". He also mentioned that Jesus Himself drank wine.
