Memeories at the Cabin

I have a lot of good memories with my family and friends. It seems like a lot of the memories I have with them have something to do with our cabin.
The cabin that has become so special to us became ours when I was only 7 years old. My parents built it on some land outside of Circleville and at that time I remember it looking like a small shack covered with white shingles. Since then, we have made a lot of changes. The inside went from shack, to small house about 7 years ago. We added an upstairs, a loft, a bathroom/ kitchen area, and a wood burning stove. Before all of this was added, the cabin was mostly a place we only visited in the spring, summer, and early fall. Now, especially with the stove, we are able to enjoy it year round. The cabin isn't all that makes this such a wonderful place to relax though.
The atmosphere is amazing. The cabin sits pretty much in the middle of nowhere, leaving it surrounded by trees that seem to never end. Walk down the hill and you"ll find a large pond that comes in very handy during summertime for fishing and swimming. Across the dam, my dad and grandpa have made several trails in the woods. Now, we use the trails mostly for riding our four wheelers, but before we got four wheelers, we went on a lot of walks.
One of the trails they have made leads down to a creek that has been foundation for many memories as well. I remember going there when I was little and playing in the sand. I would take off my shoes and play in the creek and my mom would tell me to be careful to not step on anything sharp. Now when I go there it's not to play in the water or the sand. I enjoy laying in the sun with my mom or riding four wheelers through the creek with my friends. .
Something that we do every year at the cabin is hold a Fourth of July party. We invite all of our friends, my dad grills hotdogs and hamburgers, and we have a big fireworks display across the pond.
