The Unrealized Sophisticated Culture of Umofian Society .
Many people have the notion that the people living in Africa were Barbarians. This is not true. People had this perception because they were told a biased opinion from the imperialists. What the imperialists saw was only a small portion of the Umofian people's culture, they came quickly and forced the Umofian people to change. They never truly experienced the Umofian culture, for if they had they would have seen how sophisticated the Umofian culture was. Strong religiousness, farming, and a law system are what made Umofian culture very sophisticated.
The Umofian people had a very strong background in farming. Every man in the tribe learned this skill as early as possible. They knew when to plant seeds, when to harvest the crops and when to care to them. They learned all this through years and years of farming. Barbarians are usually nomadic, and nomadic people do not farm like the Umofian did. Nomadic people are unsophisticated because they had no real land that they owned. The Umofian people clearly had land that they owned and used for farming. Their farming was one aspect of their culture that made them sophisticated and civilized.
The law system that was utilized by the Umofian people was very effective. There was little or no crime in the tribes because the punishments for most of the crimes were severe. Also when a person committed a crime there was usually exiled by the rest of the tribe. Most people did not commit crimes because they were so discouraged. Even the most "sophisticated" European countries had many problems with crime. Umofian society was clearly sophisticated because of their low crime rate.
The biggest reason the Umofian people had a sophisticated culture was because of their strong belief system. Everything in their lives was controlled by their religious beliefs. They had very strong superstitious beliefs and followed them very well.
