Ben Carson

 

When Ben was in elementary school, he received bad grades and he was in the bottom of the class. But his mother's consistent motivation to study harder resulted in him having the top grades in junior high school. In high school, he joined the ROTC and became the top-ranking officer. Even though he joined later than everybody else, he became the city executive officer over all the schools in Detroit. .
             He was offered a full scholarship to go to West Point but he didn't accept it because his dream was to go to medical school. Other top colleges wrote to him and sent representatives to him because they were impressed with his academic achievements, and high SAT scores. Harvard and Yale also wanted to recruit Ben and this was a hard decision for him because both universities were excellent. He finally decided to go to Yale when he saw his favorite show, the College Bowl, where it was against the students from Harvard and the students from Yale. The students from Yale wiped out the Harvard students with a really high score and Ben decided to go there. He also received a ninety percent scholarship from Yale. After four years passed, Ben graduated from Yale with a respectable grade point average, but it was far from the top. .
             When Yale was hosting a freshmen reception for new students, Ben Carson was one of the upperclassmen to welcome students from Michigan. He met a girl whose name was Lacena Rustin but everyone called her Candy, and they create a relationship that will last forever because they fell in love with each other and get married later. When Ben graduated from Yale, he wanted to go to the University of Michigan School of Medicine because it was in his home state so the expenses would be less and it was one of the top colleges. He gets accepted to the University of Michigan and in the first year of medical school he realizes that he has gifted hands. He is able to see three dimensions and this is a natural ability, which makes him an outstanding surgeon.
