John F. Kennedy

Kennedy, President is a book that sheds an interesting view of John Fitzgerald Kennedy's life as the 35th president of The United States of America. It reminds people how great of a man he was and what he did for our country. JFK was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. Kennedy was the youngest man elected President and he was the youngest to die. He was the first Roman Catholic to be elected into presidential office. John Kennedy went to Harvard, fought in the war, ran for Congress and then for Senate. He then became our faithful President. John F. Kennedy did not choose people because of their wealth and power to be in his cabinet, he chose men worthy of the jobs. He was a man of great dedication to his job as president. He liked all of his men to speak freely in front of him and state their true ideas and feelings. Though Kennedy was a reasonable man there were always problems of war. He did not desire to go to war over things that may be solved with something other than violence. He spoke to many during times of crisis and in more than one occasion he was able to end small wars. An example of this is when Kennedy was able to stop the war in Laos with words and without bloodshed. He sent a man to space to try and catch up with the Soviet Union's achievements in space. He was married to Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy and had two children, Caroline Kennedy and John Kennedy Jr. He was an ambitious man that wanted to do everything well. He read every document that was given to him. Even when large problems were surfacing Kennedy still had the responsibility of working on the small ones. The President was very popular among the common people. They liked the way he took the time to deal with different issues and his unbiased opinions on these issues. Though Kennedy was a popular man his life was taken on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. With those three shots, "an era ended, a young generation lost its leader, the United States gave up its President, and John Fitzgerald Kennedy died.
