Definition of the Undefinable

There are thousands of words in the English language, almost every one of those thousands can be put in a definition of the word "love." It is an emotion that every person is capable of feeling, yet there are very few who are capable of putting those feelings into words. Whether it is the love of an object, or the type of love found in a friendship, romance, or family bond, it is the emotion that brings two separate beings closer together.
Love is not always shared between two people, but sometimes between a person and an object, or an idea. Because it is a one-way relationship, this passion for these specific matters deal more with possession and ownership rather than care and affection. This love is when a man spends time working on a car--not necessarily a car that he will drive all the time--but it is an object that he is able to care for as his own. No emotion is comparable, because there is nothing that can interfere with this man's infatuation. Hours upon hours are spent with this car. If anything were to interfere, a wall of defense would instantly and instinctively be put up. This wall would serve to protect the inanimate object from anything trying to invade the personal space shared by it and the man. The irony in the situation is that the car cannot love the man back, but even given the fact, the passion and protective nature does not diminish. Rather than receiving love in return, there is a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment that comes with the adoration. If one loses the object, there is a sense of emptiness and sorrow, and a void is created. Loss is the true indicator which determines if one has really loved.
The everlasting tie between two friends is quite possibly one of the strongest bonds of love there is. Many circles of friends have the same structure; with multiple social friends but only one true friend. The love between mere social friends is not especially strong, but rather, more of a weak bond which can be broken very easily, yet reattached at the same rate.
