Children as pets

Some say that a dog or cat is the best friend that a person can have. It might be true; but I have a strong feeling that a teenager is a person's best friend because of how affectionate, well groomed, and trustworthy they are.
Just think how difficult it is to get a dog or cat to come up and give you a kiss or hug. A teenager will gladly run up to you in the morning and plant on you the biggest, wettest good morning kiss that you have ever experienced. Let us not forget the many times that they lay their head on your lap and utter the words "I love you" during the course of a day. Bedtime brings the greatest reward of all when the teenager thanks you for all the things that you did for them that day. A dog or cat just lies down and drifts off to dreamland.
Teenagers will greet you every morning at the breakfast table with neatly combed hair, fresh breath, cut toenails and fingernails, and clean, neat clothes. A cat or dog never grooms their fur, never brushes their teeth, never trims their nails, and never dresses appropriately.
Can you leave a dog or cat at home alone for any length of time? If you do, you probably will return to torn up couches, curtains in tatters, and various other messes throughout the house. With teenagers, you can leave for a week or two at a time and return to a home that will most likely be neater than when you left. Dishes will be clean, the rugs vacuumed, clothes washed, folded, and put away, weeds pulled, and actually everything in order.
Therefore, whoever said, "A dog (cat) is a man's best friend" really needs to reconsider their statement. To me, no one can ever have a better friend than a teenager. Just look at the facts.
