Leadership in America

 

            According to Peter Drucker, "A leader takes people where they want to go, and a great leader takes people where they do not necessarily want to be but ought to be." When people think of America, they think of great leaders, from presidents such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, to the soldiers in the military, and to the people of America themselves. Leadership from many people, the president, armed forces, and people in general, is the most important part of the United States. .
             The President of the Unites States is the most important person in the country. He is the most important person in the country because the faith of American people is with him. He is responsible for making sure that all laws are faithfully executed, national defense, and running the country efficiently on a daily basis. Many things define a president's leadership qualities such as, war, the economy, and scandals. A president can run into many "road blocks" throughout his presidency, many of which will define him for the next one hundred years. On September 11, 2001, George W. Bush, led the United States through the worst attack on American soil in history. Without the leadership of the president during the attacks, and after the attacks, the United States would have been in shambles. Under the leadership of George Bush, the United States remained strong throughout the attack, and not just the days following, but up through now. In the pursuit of terrorists, the president lead a grieving nation to war in Afghanistan, where the United States has been successful in ousting the Taliban government and the terrorist network, Al Queda. It is evident that leadership is the most important part of the United States because without leadership, the country would have fallen apart in the wake of September 11, 2001. President Bush also was and still is leading a war in Iraq where the brutal .
             dictator, Saddam Hussein, was ousted from power, and finally captured, to be put on trial by the Iraqi people.
