             Barcelona is located in the north east of Spain on the coast of the Mediterranean sea. It is the capital of Catalonia, and is bordered by France and the rest of Spain to the south. The distance between London and Barcelona is 712 miles (1146 km).

             Flights.
             Barcelona's airport (BCN) (del Prat) is located 13km (8 miles) southwest of the city. Bus service to the city departs Mon-Fri every 15 minutes, Sat every 30 mins and Sun every 20 mins. Rail service is every 30 minutes. Taxi service to the city is available. Airport facilities include a bank, restaurant, bar, several car hire companies, hotel reservation and tourist information desks and duty-free shops. This ease of access to the city makes Barcelona an easily accessible destination. This will be appealing to families as well as business clients as transportation from the airport combined with cheap flights will make it a destination that isn't any hassle to get to, taking worry out of a visitors trip.
             The main scheduled flight carriers to Barcelona are British airways and Iberia, which is the national airline of Spain.
             Due to the flights only taking 2 hours, any traveller with time constraints would find flying to Barcelona the best option. Low budget airlines have also made flying the best and most popular option, for all of the categories. Making it cheap as well as practical and convenient. Business travellers wouldn't really be able to do work on the plane but this wouldn't be a major issue as they would only put out for 2 hours.
             Trains.
             If travelling from the UK to Barcelona, the quickest and best route would be to leave from London Waterloo on Eurostar, change at paris for the South of France and Barcelona. Barcelona's main train station is the Estacio de Franca, which is near to the port and close to the city centre. The main draw back of using the train is that the journey is about fifteen hours, this would put off young families from taking this option, as children would get bored and restless.
