Together they have formed their own production company, Dualstar, making them the youngest producers in Hollywood. Grossing over $77 million for just their low-budget videocassettes, and Dualstar raking in around $1 billion, it is safe to say that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are two of the wealthiest seventeen year olds on the planet! I believe that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen represent perfection. I know that no one is "perfect- but they do come quite close. Both fit, wealthy, down-to-earth girls are extremely smart and athletic and I have grown up watching them. Many girls are able to say that they have learned the basic rules of teenage femininity through the twins. Not only are the perfect slumber parties shown, but how to put on makeup, kiss boys, and truly rule the school are taught as well. During a rather exciting evening over at my best friend Laura's house, we walked downstairs to her basement to surf the channels. Surprisingly enough we arrive in the room only to find her brother and his senior friends sitting on the couch drinking brews and watching When in Rome (2002), M-K & A's latest flick, and gushing about how "hott- they are. It is fairly unusual seeing that not only younger girls watch and idolize them, but boys are tempted by the twins as well. Boys see that they are what their girlfriends could, and in fact, should look like. After watching the two parade around in bikinis a boy simply cannot hang out with his girlfriend who has the excess weight that prevents her from doing so. Not only have Mary-Kate and Ashley appeared in many films, but they are selling books, video games, action figures, and a clothing line at Wal-Mart as well.
