the sterotypical family

The stereotypical American Family "in the artificial tradition of Father Knows Best and Leave It to Beaver "used to be characterized by a working father, a housewife mother, and several well behaved children. In no way is my family similar to these once typical American families.
I will begin to tell you about my parents. My dad is an egotistical asshole. He figures since he is the one that "makes the money in the house-, he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and nobody can do anything about it. And for some odd reason he thinks he deserves respect for doing this, even though he is a lunatic. On the other side of him we have the housewife mother, the June Cleaver great mom that loves her kids, and even vacuums the house in diamond earrings and a pearl necklace. Yea right! My mom is an interior designer that owns a business. She is an obsessive compulsive sociopath. Put both of them together in an enclosed environment and you get a power struggle between two ungodly crazy people. .
Then there is my brother and I. My brother somehow always dodges the family quarrels and struggles. He kind of does his own thing, and keeps on the down low with the rest of my crazy family. He actually has the right idea.
Then there is me. I always seem to get drug into all of the family feuds. I am usually the mediator in all of the fights. One time about three years ago my genius mother decides to plan a family vacation to Rio de Janeiro. My dad started drinking on the flight down there, got belligerently drunk two hours into the flight, and started to try and storm the cockpit to yell at the pilots that supposedly needed to "learn to fly the god damn plane better-. Of course I, the mediator, have to stop him, so he does not get his stupid drunk ass arrested. Thank god we were gold members in first class, or they would have sent him to some Brazilian prison or something. .
Finally we have the rest of my family.
