I just wish that he told someone about his mother when the abusing fist happened. It is really sad reading this story. .
             The novel seems very interesting to me. As I go on reading, I just wish that I were there to vanquish the wicked witch. It is very sad to know that a parent would actually do something like so cruel. .
             I am learning the facts to life by reading this novel. I also want to pursue a career as a social worker. I want to be there for the children who need someone to talk to. I want to be a helping hand to the society.
             I already know what will happen at the end of the story because the ending is on the first few pages. The police took Dave away. Dave went to school really late one day because he didn't finish his chores on time. He arrived late so he had to go to the administrative office. The nurse examined him and asked him what happened. He didn't want to tell on his mother because he wanted to protect her, but somehow he told. The nurse called the principal and his teacher. They had a meeting. They called the police and the police took him to the Daly City Police Department. There, the policed called his mother and informed her that Dave was under their custody. Dave was free from her.
             Plot: Dave's father tried to convince his mother to change, but all that led to be more arguments. Dave's was blamed for the problems that they were having. He was always punished for every single movement. .
             His second grade teacher questioned him about his lifestyle. She was very concerned and wanted to know what was going on with him. She asked him, but he wouldn't tell the truth. He said what his mother told him to say. He was brainwashed to not say anything negative about his mother. The teacher didn't buy it, so she reported it to the principal. The principal then called her. .
             She had a new infant child at this point. She brought him along to the meeting with the principal to have him think she's not an abusive mother.
