Animal Rights Terrorism

Animals all across the worlds are terrorized day after day, whether it's for the use of cheap food, safe medicines or the making of a new product. The opinions of many people think that the use of animals for medicine and product making can be decreased. Because the help of the helpless animals in the factories, farms, or laboratories when being put to wrong use is physical cruelty. Cruelty to animals is degrading and considered to be wrong.
Animal Rights are as important, if not equally important to human rights. The doctrine of species has encouraged more people to think of animal rights in the same way that the rest of humanity thinks of human rights (Singer, Regan). Animals comprise multi-cellular organisms that have a defined shape, limited growth, can move voluntarily, actively acquire food and digest it internally (Webster's Universal College Dictionary 32). They also have senses and nervous systems that allow them to respond to stimuli, as humans require with great similarity. .
Certainly animals should be treated humanely, but animal subjects are often necessary in experiments to develop medicines that will save or improve human life. At Harvard's primate center in Southborough, tests are underway on an AIDS vaccine, an early test for Parkinson's disease, and treatments for drug addictions (Ethics and Animals). It has been handled badly, but their prime goal considered is the betterment of humankind. Yet medical progress is being threatened by activists who would end the use of laboratory animals in the research for treatment and cures. In the Violence, Terrorism and the Animal Rights Movement article it states, "that the more extreme animal rights activists have used tactics of intimidation and terrorism: fire-bombing, vandalism, threats, burglary, and physical harassment in their effort to hobble the advance of science and the saving of human lives". Which is now causing new researchers and experimenters to give their chosen field a rest, because of the dangers it's causing.
