Fall of the Roman Empire

 

            There were many causes to the fall of the Roman empire.
             One cause was the army was collapsing. Few people thought the empire was worth serving and fighting for. They had foreign soldiers fighting for them. Training and discipline collapsed. They could not protect themselves and their property. There was also a lack of soldiers. .
             Another cause was that the people became lazy. They stopped working. There was a big gap between the rich and the poor. The introduction of Christianity had some influence on the Empires fall. They couldn't protect themselves from attacking invaders. Also, the abundance of slaves led to the growth of the latifundia which came to dominate agriculture and ruin the free farmers. These free farmers drifted to the cities and added to the unemployment This also lowered wages. The government also had incurred large expenses which led to the citizens being heavily taxed. .
             Another cause for the fall of the Roman empire was that invaders were attacking them from all over . the invaders were Huns, Visigoths, Francks, Angelo-Saxons, Vandals and Northmen. The attacks were not unified. .
             There were many causes for the fall of the Roman empire. Those were just some examples.
