             The ever changing family has responsibilities and duties to fill, to become a physical and emotionally stable family. In the past there were different responsibilities then there is today. .
             The economic function is when the family provides the necessary goods that are needed to survive. In the past, to provided for the family the head of the family would farm and fish to acquire the goods needed. Today, the parents of the household has a job which they receive pay , which will in turn purchase the necessities. .
             Education is very important factor of life, then and now. It is a law today that parents must have their children educated. Parents use to educate their children at home. The boys were taught by their fathers and the girls taught by their mothers.
             Everyone needs to feel and be loved. It is one of the unwritten necessities needed to have a healthy family. Emotional security is crucial to children as they are growing up. By providing emotional security, the children in turn will have more self- confidence and past it on to their own families.
             .
             In conclusion, not much has changed in regards to providing the basic necessities of live to help improve the function of the family. What has changed .
             is our views on what is important in today's society.
