Mount Rushmore- Not Just For Americans

 

            Mount Rushmore is made to honor the greats for their achievements. To receive such an honor one must accomplish something great benefiting mankind in their lifetime. One such deserving of this honor is Napoleon Bonaparte. The men on Mount Rushmore all display similar qualities. Napoleon shares the qualities of high intelligence, great ambition, and leadership skills. .
             Intelligence, being one of Napoleon's most distinguishing traits, helps him to accomplish his major achievements. His impeccable dictating skills lead him to write the Code Napoleon. The Code Napoleon helped to reform most of Europe. Napoleon's main issue was education. He puts schools under centralized administration. He also envisions free public schools. He set up secondary schools that accept all that qualify not on the bases of religion or social status. He abolishes serfdom. The Code Napoleon offers every country that Napoleon takes over a constitution, which provides universal male suffrage and a parliament. Napoleon set up administrative and judicial systems that are still around to this day. Another measure of his intelligence would be his finance skills. He sold the Louisiana Purchase to America in his realization that he needed money to und his on going wars in Europe. Napoleon also started the Bank of France which is a private stock company organized by his wishes. Intelligence is just a fraction of the many accomplishments that make him great. .
             His ambition is evident throughout the experiences in his life. Napoleon's education began in a military school in Brienne, France. Napoleon has always been a man of short stature. As a child kids teased him for his height and heavy Corsican accent. Napoleon consumes himself in his studies. His hard work pays off when he wins a scholarship to the prestigious Ecole military school in Paris, France. He graduates at the top of his class. During Napoleon's rein in France he is able to take over most of Europe.
