             Elie- when they got to the destination of their deportation they saw the fire and smelled a foul odor.
             Page 26:All Jews in Elie's Cattle Wagon- finally arrive at Birkenau, reception for Auschwitz.

             Elie- had to leave his sisters and mother, goes with his father.

             Elie- is questioned about his age, health, and occupation; he had to pretend to be older and worked as a farmer; later he would find out why.

             Elie and the other Jewish Men- had to strip and some were selected to work at the crematories, though Elie's father was right not to draw attention to oneself!.

             The remaining Jewish men- were to go to the barbers, by the time they were done there were no remaining hairs on their bodies!.
             Page 34:.
             Elie's Father- had changed and his eyes had grown dim and quiet.
             Page 40:.
             Stein of Antwerp- Reinzel's husband, Elie's cousin, Elie lied to make him feel better and told him his wife and children were well when he hadn't spoken to her for a while.
