            11-year-old Mark Sway and his younger brother Ricky, stumbled upon Jerome Clifford one day, as he was trying to commit suicide and the boys witnesses the suicide of the drunken Mafia lawyer. Before the Clifford dies, he tries to take Mark with him, holding the boy prisoner while the Cadillac they sit in fills with carbon dioxide. As he's fading, Clifford reveals to Mark the whereabouts of the body of a Louisiana senator that his Mafia client has murdered, Senator Boyd Boyette, and buried him in the concrete under his garage in New Orleans. The senator was murdered by Mafia thug Barry ``the Blade'' Muldanno, then buried under concrete in the Clifford's garage. Mark escapes death but now holds a secret so deadly that Barry the Blade is looking to kill Mark and who ever tries to stop him. Mark was pushed around and overlooked, but as soon as people found out Mark knew this dangerous secret, they all wanted a piece of him. Everyone wants to talk to Mark because of the sensiti!.
             vity of the case because Barry's going on trial for the senator's murder--but there's no body, and so the feds have a weak case. Mark gets 52-year-old lawyer named Reggie Love to help. Together they try to keep the location of the dead Senator a secret but it's not as easy as it seems. Caught in a ruthless game between the Mob and the amoral authorities, Mark's family has no defense in the world except Reggie. So she must do whatever it takes to make sure that Mark stays alive so he can tell the feds where the dead Senator's body is. Throughout the entire event Mark builds a special bond with Reggie and doesn't want to lose her because of what he knows. So he must remain quite in order to protect his mother, Rickey, and Reggie no matter what the mafia does to try to scare him into talking.
