The main principles, that I talked about earlier, of Theosophy can be obtained by using open minded thinking along with unselfish service to man. There are seven main points that Theosophists use. These points are called the seven jewels of wisdom. "These jewels can be used to build a system of science, which is based on consciousness as a primary factor." (Euser). This just means that all the jewels combined are a guideline for the consciousness to follow to be truly good and be elevated to a higher level. The seven jewels, or principles, that are most important and a part of everyday life are reincarnation, karma, hierarchies, unique characteristics, progressive evolution, duality is the basis for all manifestations, and knowing the essence of all life. The first jewel is reincarnation. This deals with every part of life, and can be considered the broadest jewel. Everything is based in a cycle, nature (the seasons), the rotation of the planets, even the process of thought (thoughts are born, they are put into action, and then they die). Basically everything starts and ends in the same place, which can be considered harmony. This jewels also means that a consciousness takes form as a person or even other things such as a plant or stone once and awhile. The second jewel is karma. This deals with cause and effect of everything and how the universe tends to restore itself to harmony after periods of chaos and destruction. The third jewel is the idea of hierarchies. This is basically that everything is made up of smaller parts that make-up a greater whole. For instance, the human body is made of organs, these organs are made of organelles the organelles are made of tissues and each tissue is made of different types of cells that all have different structures and functions. Each of these parts has to work together in order for the whole person to work. This stresses the importance of every little thing in life.
