Venezuelan Government

 

            
             Venezuelan Government's constitution was written in 1961 and it is based on republican, democratic and federalist principles. Just like the United States government it is divided into 3 branches, Judicial, executive, and legislative. They hold elections every five years for their president, and congress. The Senate is made up of two senators from each state and two from federal district. They have two major political parties, the Democratic Action and the Social Christian Party. Each state has a governor who the president chooses. The Venezuelan people have a lot of individual liberty because their government protects civil and human rights issues. They have a Supreme Court that takes care of civil, criminal and political cases. The members of the Supreme Court are elected by congress.
