Where Is Justice

Once my daughter was free she ran towards the house holding her throat and neck while she gasped for air. She tried screaming but all she could do was cough and choke. Once she was safe in the house I shouted "I"m calling the police" as !.
the woman walked away and I did as soon as I got inside. Sitting there calling the police I listened to my daughter cry and choke. She was saying her neck hurt and her throat hurt. Then I called a good friend for support because my husband and eldest daughter were visiting my husband's ill mother in the states. My friend came over as soon as possible. It seemed like it took forever for the police to arrive.
The police officer that attended the call seemed very calm and nice. After speaking with me, he went across the street to speak to the lady that attacked my daughter. When he came back he explained that the lady fully admitted doing it and felt sorry for what she had done. The officer also informed me that she had recently lost her father and when she came over here about the shirt she just lost it. Even-though the police officer stated that " this was no excuse for what happened", I should be aware of her problems. I was not interested in what her problems were I just wanted to know what was going to be done about the attack. If this woman were truly sorry she would have been here to apologies to my daughter and to me for what she had done. I felt as though my concerns were not being taken seriously enough, and the thought of my daughter's actions being placed on the same level as this woman's attack was to much to handle and I got an little aggressive with the police officer. With the help of friends, I manage to calm down and listen to what he had to say. My daughter and I both had to give statements at the police station the next couple of days. They also informed me that the woman was being brought down to make a statement as well.
It is horrible feeling that no one could understand the pain and anger I felt of the thought of this woman only getting a warning for her behavior.
