A Walk Through The Woods

Towering trees surround me as I walk through the woods. I can smell the refreshing scent of the outdoors. The fragrance of fall is in the air. I can feel the gentle nip of the whispering wind upon my cheek. Forest sounds sing a comforting lullaby when I walk on the bed of leaves beneath me. I can hear the trickle of water as I draw near the stream. I can feel the sunshine kiss my face as it seeps through the fingers of the braches above. Occasionally, I"ll hear the quick movement of scampering animals in the brush. In a quick flash they have disappeared into the beautiful camouflage of their woodsy homes. When the consoling rustles of the leaves return, I can connect to my deepest thoughts once more. Then the shady shadows sneak upon me as the sky turns into deep pools of darkness. As I make my way out of the comfort of nature I hate to leave it all behind. I"m afraid the peace and solace may slip away as I return to reality. Comforting thoughts rush in as I realize the forest will wait for me till I pass this way again.
