American Press

America is one of the most ground breaking nations ever created in the history of the world. Its experiments have been successful along with experiments that have been total failures. The most successful experiments American has done went to that of America's press laws. Freedom of press has been the law of the land ever since our constitution has come into effect. I will be talking about why the press has been so ground breaking and why it has been so successful .
The media brings the population into world events and issues and also shows truths and scandals. This was evident in the stock exchange with Exon. The media brought the truth to the public eye. President Clinton was also victim to our countries freedom of press. The press rode his sexual scandal as far as they could and in the end, it showed the public that no one can hide or lie to the press. .
America has a press that wants to report the truth. In the past, money through politics have controlled what the masses have heard and seen in order for those people to be controlled in thought and in action. In today's America, I feel that this is not the case. Our media has become a dominant force behind why our leaders and politicians make important decisions. These leaders are fearful of the public eye and ear because of what the press can expose. The press has the ability to control thoughts towards a certain individual or group and has the power to control issues that are in the public eye at the present time. The American Press can do this because it has freedom. It has the freedom to print or broadcast anything it desires with no fear of being hurt or killed. Mostly high level officials are obviously in the medias eye more often then not but nothing is overlooked by mass media. This is why America's press laws have been so ground breaking in world events.
Controlled media in other countries seem to print what is wanted by the government or however it will benefit those people in power.
