College Football

Some people feel that college football should go to a playoff type post season. Currently, college football uses a system known as the Bowl Championship Series. The Bowl Championship Series is an attempt to create a national champion with out having an actual playoff. It was created by the six major conferences. They use a rating system to figure out what teams should be in the National Championship at the end of the season. There are currently four bowls used in the system: Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fiesta. One of these four bowl games will be the National Championship game on a rotating basis. .
This is why some people feel that college football should go to a playoff type post season. Not all teams are eligible for the bowl games based on how they got rated during the season. Depending on how strong their division was and how many games they won. .
A playoff season would consists of all teams playing out the regular season, the teams with the best recorded in the division would go to the playoffs and compete for the chance to play in the bowl game. A system like this would create one definet national champion. .
A playoff type season would make the season more interesting to the nation. Allowing all college teams to have an equal chance to be a national champion. I would turn college football into a mini National Football League in theory, and would create a more competitive season.
This would give smaller school like Indiana State University and others better recruiting opportunities. Allowing them to be able to have a chance in getting some of the best player to come to their school and have and opportunity to compete for a national title.
A playoff post season would drive television rating up. This means more money for television networks and in turn would mean more money for the colleges. Smaller schools would also be able to reek the benefits from memoribly sells. All of this would be created if the six major divisions would go to a playoff post season.
