Once initiated into the gang, your "rights" are explained to you because, believe it or not, there are some gangs that are organized. You are told that you now have protection from everyone. Although money is no longer a problem at this time because now you can turn either to theft and/or "slanging," or in other words drug dealing. Most thugs are shocked at the amount of money that can be made in a "good" night or week. There are thugs who make more money than their parents combined. Out in the streets, their mind is only set for the moment because they are aware that the pleasure of having money is temporary.
             These young men do not think of the outcomes when it comes to committing a crime. All they can think about is their safety and immediate comfort. Girls have more of a conscience and think more about what they do before they do it. These young men might start at a young age, but they never know how long they will survive on the streets. Like in Thailand with Muay Thai Boxing kids try to get out of their homes at a young age before they end up enslaved in brothels or sweatshops (Horn1). They decide they are better off joining this sport. In Muay Thai boxing one of the fighters might earn three times more than his rice farming parents makes in a year in one night of competition. For these Thailand kids boxing is a living that only has to deal with toughness, and have a less-problematic life at home. .
             It is known that many Chicago neighborhoods in Chicago are very segregated. There are deadly intersections people avoid when crossing certain streets because of these invisibly segregated streets. Regular confrontations amongst gangs can be seen daily. Many innocent teens within the age range of other thugs get confused by this, but the targets are obvious most of the times. It is rare when an unknown individual is killed. .
             A thug is mainly a problem with young teens and adults. The colors you are wearing can put you in serious danger sometimes.
