Capital Punishment

An eye for an eye? This is the view of most Texans when it comes to crime and punishment and our way of justice. The court systems in Texas state that when someone is committed of a capital crime, you are subsequently charged with the capital punishment. In Texas two inmates are put to death every month! What gets me is, lets say your crime is committing murder, what gives the right of the legal system to put you to death. Sentencing someone to the death penalty is morally hypocritical and makes no sense statistically.
First of all, we've all pretty much established the laws around the world and know what types of things we like to call crimes and everything we know to be legal and illegal. So, knowing this, we sentence our criminals justly or accordingly. We know that if you speed, you get a speeding ticket or, if you commit robbery you go to jail, etc. and so on . . . so, what happens if you commit murder? Does the court system have the authority commit murder on you? Is that just? "An eye for an eye"? Where's the logic in putting someone to death, when they themselves committed a crime of murder. We are trying to say that by killing someone is very bad, and should be dealt with, but how can you justify a death with another death. That certainly does not bring the deceased back from the dead nor did the criminal obtain any punishment for the crime he or she committed. Unless you"re like me and know that you will be dealt with in the after life and be judged by God himself, but there are no religious backings in the court system I .

Am not the one to tell you of an accurate penalty for this type of crime but capital punishment is the ultimate form of hypocrisy. Who are we any better to say that someone is to be sentenced to death? Are we all not killers? Or is it ok because we did it in a more organized and public fashion than that of the killer. The final decision was conducted in a court system that is legalized so that makes putting someone to death just.
