Augustine not only begins to learn many facts of life on his journey but also many spiritual facts pertaining to his very own life. He begins to grow as a Christian but in the same since his life becomes much more complicated. He grows as a Christian by learning more and more about them and what he wants to be. He learns the rights and wrongs of Christianity and what it truly means to be a Christian. Although he is still a sinner just like everyone else, he learns the importance of learning God and the things that he speaks of. He also learns the importance of practicing what he is preaching. He cannot speak of the Lord's words to us and then practice another. He also begins to question many more things. Many things that at one point in his journey were irrelevant but are now things that he is very interested in and needs to know. In one since you have Saint Augustine as a sinner, and in another you have him speaking the Lord's word, and still in the last you have him once again questioning both. Still all of these are happening at the same time. .
On his physical journey Saint Augustine also goes through many obstacles and learning experiences. He watches and observes many other people. Saint Augustine learns from there words and actions. He observes the actions very closely and begins to realize the way people react to things and how they deal with different obstacles in their lives. He relates these things to those that he has learned and also to the word's of the Lord. Eventually things begin to come together and make more since. Many of his questions are beginning to be answered.
