Anti-Western Islamic Fundamentalism

In addition, many citizens were tired of the US aiding regimes where many casualties were the cause for the selfish interest s of the US. By aiding regimes, the US wasn't getting its hands dirty, but as a result, many innocent civilians died.
Washington can be blamed for orchestrating Islamic Fundamentalism, most of whose varieties allied under Wahhabite guidance- subsequently became the main ideological tool of the anti-communist and antinationalist struggle in the Islamic world, in alliance with Riyadh. Furthermore, Anti-Western Islamic Fundamentalism is not only an acute manifestation of an imperial policy and a reaction to the rise of the workers movement. Rather, it is an acute manifestation of opposition to imperialist domination and to the corrupt bourgeois regimes on which that domination depends. When a political identification between fascism and radical Islamic fundamentalism emerges from a left-wing discourse, it's generally meant to legitimize either support to local dictatorships or support to Western powers" policies.
The US is thus directly responsible for the resurgence of anti- Western Islamic Fundamentalism. Over the past thirty years this resurgence has flourished in two successive waves. The Iranian revolution marked the climax of the first wave, in the 1970s; September 11 and the shock wave it sent out were the peak of the second wave, dating back to the 1990s. The US is in fact doubly responsible for them. Not only did it contribute directly to propagating Islamic Fundamentalism, but also by helping to defeat and crush the Left and progressive nationalism throughout the Islamic world, it freed up the space for political Islam as the only ideological and organizational expression of popular resentment. This resentment is the cause of US disrespectful attitude towards the citizens of the Arab world, where the US clearly shows that its sole purpose is to ensure its wealth, and not ensure the stability of the Arab states.
