Frida Kahlo

             Biograpghy.
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter who had suffered with many physical and emotional changes throughout her life. This is a biography on Frida Kahlo's life and the effect that the changes had on her life. .
Frida's life began and ended in Mexico City, in her home known as the "Blue House". She gave her birth date as July 7 1910, but her birth certificate indicates her birth date as July 6 1907. Frida hated the year she was born in; she never gave a reason why, but changed her birth date to satisfy her needs.
At the age of 6, Frida was told she had Polio, which caused her right leg to appear much thinner than the other. It was to remain that way permanently. .
When Frida entered High School she was a tomboy full of mischief who became the ringleader of a rebellious group of manly boys that continually caused trouble in the National Preparatory School. This group pulled many pranks, manly on professors. It was also in the National Preparatory School that Frida came into contact with her future husband, the Mexican muralist Diego Rivera. He was commissioned to paint a mural in the school's auditorium. .
On September 17, 1925, Frida was involved in a serious bus accident that left her with a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken pelvis and 11 fractures in her right leg. In addition to her right foot was dislocated and crushed, and her shoulder was out of joint. For a month, Frida was forced to stay flat on her back, encased in a boxlike structure. .
Frida began painting shortly after the accident because she was bored in bed. It was because of this accident she realised she had a talent in painting, and this became her life long profession. Frida's enormous strength and will to live allowed her to survive and make a remarkable recovery.
Although Frida's recovery was miraculous (she regained her ability to walk), she did have relapses of tremendous pain and fatigue all throughout her life, which caused her to be hospitalised for long periods of time, bedridden at times, and also caused her to undergo numerous operations.
