Camping is a relaxing hobby that I have learned to enjoy. Many people have gone camping at least once in their lives. Some like it, and others do not but it is definitely one of my favorite things to do in my spare time. Any chance that I get, I am out camping at my campground or even in a tent.
My parents have a camper that was passed down from my mom's parents. It is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, located in West Finley. I love it out there though. It is all country, and everyone is friendly. I have met so many people out there. At first I was not happy about spending my weekends so far out in the country, but I would go in a heartbeat now. It is nothing spectacular. We have a lodge where dinners, dances, and other get-togethers are held for the campers. We have both an indoor and an outdoor pool to swim. There are also trails to hike or ride ATVs. It just feels safe out there, and it is so beautiful. .
But, to me, there is nothing better then tent camping. It is the real thing. You actually have to be able to sleep on the hard ground and deal with not having an actual bathroom. You are cut off from society, and it is a nice break. It is relaxing and beautiful too. I have camped at Raccoon State Park with some of my friends. I loved it! We went hiking, swam in the lake, cooked our own food, sat by the fire, and looked at the stars. I have to say it is one of my favorite times, and I would do it again anyday.
In summary my camp is a beautiful and relaxing place and I am glad that my family inherited the place. But I enjoy any chance that I get to go in a tent. I finally found something I love to do. I would not trade it for anything, and I look forward to many days of experiencing nature and other people's company in this way.
