The Hand

The excitement level rose more with every second as I pushed my way through the crowds of people. In mine, I held an aged hand complete with sun spots and wrinkles, guiding it to my undecided destination. My eyes dashed every which way, attempting to take in all the excitement, trying not miss a single detail. The colorful and overly animated buildings, each one possessing it's own theme, each one waiting to tell it's own story. I didn't know where to go, I wanted to see it all, but also desired to chose the very best one for fear of not enough time. Soon I felt my eyes fill with wonder and amazement, all around me characters from my favorite movies were mingling right there with me! Snow White, Pooh Bear, Aladin, Alice, Mickey and Minney Mouse.and then I saw her, wearing a blue dress, making her only more beautiful. .
At the realization that the my idol was in my presence, I forgot everything else and ran to meet her. She was busy with other children like me, swirling around to give hugs and sign autographs. A few times I lost sight of her due to large groups of people walking infront of me, who were all older and taller than me at four feet tall, seven years old. Jumping to try to see her to know where to navigate my footsteps. It worked at times, catching only a glimpse of her golden blonde hair, and at others I only saw a blurred mess of nameless people. I finally reached the edge of the mass of children and adults who were formed in a closely weaved circle around her. I could see her through the spaces between the bodies, greeting her devoted fans and I suddenly become jealous. Timidly reaching up and tapping a should that was standing between her and I. The young woman looked down and smiled, putting her hand on my back and guiding me past her. I found myself surrounded by adults, with no view of my destination. Again I reached up to tap another shoulder, but this time there was no reply.
