Changing Ways

When my life was falling out control and reality was nowhere to be found. I needed to find a way, someone or something to influence me in positive way. It is hard to ask for help when others depend on yourself for guidance.
It started my senior year of high school. This was to be the year that I finally became a man and be a leading figure at my school. Indeed that was the case; I was more involved in school activities, plus a mentor to the underclassmen. I was helping everybody yet; I was not helping myself. When it came to English I was struggling to comprehend the stories. I scored A's and B's in other classes but, I could not overcome my C's and D's in English. To make matters worst my Grandmother died and my house gotten broken into during 2002. I had no confidence that I could understand the English class. I felt I had every excuse to fail to pick up my grade and be satisfied with a C.
Then came the last nine week period of school. I knew I graduated and just waiting for my diploma. Inside I felt I had to something to prove. I had something to prove to the punk that broken into my house. I had to give my Grandmother a gift for all the love she gave me while she was alive. I came into English class a new person. Not the same student that made one D and two C's. I began to understand meanings and poems. For the first time all school year, I did not feel lost; I was found. .
In the end, I got my diploma from Your High School. But, the most joy was looking at my report card. Why? I made an A in my English class. In conclusion, if you have motivation to succeed, you can do anything your heart sets out to do.
