Morgan described two different types of civilizations bonding into one during the same period of time. The Spaniards and Englishmen made up the conquerors civilization, meanwhile, the Indians, the Arawaks, and the Cimarrons were part of the subjugated civilization. These two civilizations differed in just one way. One was ambitious and the other was satisfied with the way there lives were. Members of the ruthless civilization decided to seek for fortune in other parts of the world at what ever cost. This implicated the lives and mistreatments of members of the content civilization. This brought up exploration of land, resources, and riches to the home land. It benefited the Spaniards and eventually the English; but it exploited the Indians, Arawaks, and the Cimarrons. .
The Spanish where much different from the Englishmen, even though they were both part of the same category of civilization. The Spaniards were more salvage towards their enemies and allies, than the Englishmen. Englishmen believed that slavery wasn't of necessity. The Englishmen were conquerors for land, but liberators for the people. They allied with Cimarrons and Indians in several occasions against the Spaniards, to overcome them and destroy slavery. The Spaniards were murderers, they killed millions of natives for land and riches, their slaves (who were the natives) died from starvation and diseases, and the ambition for power (land) caused them to override all of South, Central and part of North America. However, Indians, Arawaks, and the Cimarrons were all considered the natives of these lands. Within this civilization the Cimarrons and most of the Indians were the rebels. Even though the natives lived a simple and undemanding life, they would still have the right to defend what was rightfully theirs. Indians had the power to starve Englishmen during many of the attempts to settle in Virginia. The Cimarrons rebelled against the Spaniards and conquered some of their land back.
