The Atari 2600

They may not be graphically awesome but they were fun to a lot of people. Adventure which was one of the first ever Atari 2600 games was also one of the first role role-playing games. Many are out today. One of the most famous ones is Final Fantasy, which has sold millions of copies.
             Role-playing games let you take place of the hero character of the game and end up having to save the world or worlds. In Adventure you take the place of the little yellow dot and you are in a maze of many hallways and rooms. The main purpose of the game is to find and kill the three dragons of the maze. This game was really fun and it was a pretty good selling game for Atari. The game also had the first Easter egg in it.
             An Easter egg in a game is something hidden that you have to find. This Easter egg was the player got to see the game programmers name, which, was forbidden by the executives. The programmers put thing like that in all the games that they worked on. The product line was slender because half of it people didn't want. That is partly because the graphics that Atari promised were never shown. .
             Which meant that everything was bad in the game. E.T. was on of the main examples of this. E.T. was not at all fun to play and it also had horrible graphics. The game never did well as a product because of it being a bad game to play and to look at. It is mostly because of the executives making the programmers do it. .
             E.T. was a pitfall for Atari, because of the idea and the game itself had no plot or anything close to one. The gaming and graphics of most Atari games has been amazing and which is why they are known today. Atari today is most well for their games and their life as a company. Some of the other games Atari had were like Asteroids which is a game where you are a space ship trying to destroy well asteroids. It is a fun game as many people say. One of the many other games is the Tempest.
