World War II: The Cause

After WWI, delegates met in Paris to draw up what became the treaty of Versailles. Probably one of the biggest failures ever, both the winners and losers of WWI left Paris unhappy and dissatisfied. The allies still wanted more while the losers of the war were left miserable after loosing territories and than having to pay reparations for their actions in WWI. Only 20 years later Hitler of Germany invaded Poland in 1939 and began one of the bloodiest and most costly wars ever. WWII was a direct result of WWI and the vents that followed because of it.
WWI crippled European nations. Many countries, seriously in debt, began to print more and more money causing it to be worth nothing. In 1929 the Stock Market crashed and the whole world was led into the Great Depression. Even the wealthiest nations like the United States were broke and stable governments became increasingly difficult to maintain. This opened doors for violent Nationalists and ambitious dictators that promised to change things. In the Soviet Union, Lennon lead the communists to power in 1917. In Italy, Fascists ruler Benito Mussolini took power after promising to restore order to Italian states. In Germany, the Nazis became increasingly powerful by taking large but legal steps towards Chancellorship. By 1933, the Germany Parliament had been dissolved, Hitler had been made the president and chancellor of Germany, and the Nazis were by far the most popular political party in Germany. .
Hitler joined the Nazis after WWI and become their seventh member. After trying unsuccessfully to seize power quickly and illegally, Hitler was thrown in Prison where he wrote his famous book, Mein Kamp. After serving only a fraction of his sentenced imprisonment, Hitler returned to the Nazi party and decided it was necessary to obtain power through legal steps. This became increasingly simple as unrest in Germany grew because of the great depression.
