Friendship

When I was younger, I felt like any other kid in the world. I went to school, watched cartoons, and played with my friends. One day my parents told me that they were having a divorce because things were not going as well as they use to. Being from Florida and not knowing much about any of the other states in the U.S., I did not know what to expect. I chose to live with my dad in Louisiana, and in November my life changed dramatically. Do not get me wrong, choosing between my parents was one of the hardest decisions that I have ever make in my life, and I did not want to show any favoritism to either side of my parents. I just felt more comfortable with my dad knowing the fact that we bond better in a friendship.
I went to a school were everyone was a little different, and that made me feel out of place. My friends were more of the country type of people and I was use to the urban way of living. After my first day of school I told my dad that everything was weird and the new atmosphere was going to take some getting use to. I told him I would try to do anything that I could to make things as good as possible for him as well. We always tried to make things better when life didn't look so bright.
I am a momma's boy, do not get me wrong. I missed her terribly and the little things that she did for me. Also, I missed my older brother. Eventually, I did realize that my dad and I were on our own, and we would have to start relying on each other to get things done in life.
Whenever my dad and I moved to the Louisiana, my dad worked a lot. He always made it a point not to be too distant. It was hard getting used to things, but he did make it easier at night after he got off work. My dad and I would always go out to eat at night because he was not the best cook at the time. After we ate we would both go to the mall or Wal-Mart to waste time and then go home to watch television.
My dad always seemed to be stressed out over things and we would always sit and talk about how everything would eventually work out and not to worry too much.
