All through the play, all of characters appears as one thing ,with one standpoint ,and one outlook. However ,on the inside all of these characters are completely different. This mask theme, the way that all of the characters portray themselves as one person on the outside and one different on the inside ,is not the least disguised by shakespeare .Clauius, the murdering king appears to be a some what kind caring and friendly person .But he is different .he is cold , calculating, and self-serving .but this might also be a mask .One of hamlet's most renown traits is his over analysis of conversational topics and situations in which action must be taken .An example of his over analytical nature is apparent in his speech in act one Scene four. He begins his speech quite normally replying with a simple answer to Horatio's inquiry but then his thoughts begin to wander and he starts to analyze and philosophize about topics unrelated to Horatio ,s question .
